Paula DeCoito,Ph.D. Paula is a sociologist and management executive with over 25 years of experience in the Canadian non-profit sector
and the field of diversity and equity issues. She is the co-author of two publications on diversity management: Diversity Competence for Non-Profit Organizations: A Best Practices Manual and A Diversity Management Tool Kit. Paula has led many research and training projects on diversity management, anti-oppression, services for immigrants and cross-cultural communication. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare Policy from McMaster University and a Ph.D. in the Sociology of Education from the University of Toronto.
Laurie Williams, Ph.D. Laurie is a sociologist and community educator. She is the co-author of two publications on diversity management: Diversity Competence for Non-Profit Organizations: A Best Practices Manual and A Diversity Management Tool Kit. Laurie has worked nationally and internationally with people from marginalized and disadvantaged groups. She has served as a teacher, anti-racism educator, researcher, town planner, and community development worker. Laurie holds a B.Ed. and a Ph.D. in the Sociology of Education from the University of Toronto.
